Dress Code

Dress Code 

At CVCS, we believe that outward appearance reflects inner values and attitudes. Parents and students are responsible for compliance. We ask all community members to follow the guidelines cooperatively, honoring God and supporting our educational mission. Adhering to the dress code allows us to focus on learning, faith development, and personal growth. The dress code applies during school hours and events unless otherwise specified. 

General Guidelines 

● Clothing must be solid colored in approved colors: navy blue, red, white, or gray. 

● Clothing must be clean, neat, and in good repair, without holes, fringes, rips, or fraying. 

● Clothing must fit properly and not be excessively tight, baggy, or reveal undergarments. 

● Clothing should be free of logos, designs, or patterns. 

    ○ Small brand logos are permitted if it is embroidered matching the clothing. 

    ○ CVCS logos are permitted. We do not require purchasing from a specific company         however, Old Navy uniform products serve as a model for approved dress code items. 

Tops 

● Students must wear a uniform-style polo shirt (2-5 buttons) in short or long sleeves. 

● Turtlenecks, mock necks, or long sleeved T-shirts may be worn under the polo shirts.

 ● Sweaters or sweatshirts may be worn over a polo shirt. 

● Tops must overlap bottoms in all circumstances. Tucked in undershirts or tank tops are encouraged. 

● Dresses must have a polo collar. 

Bottoms

 ● Students may wear navy blue or khaki pants, capris, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers. 

● Bottoms must be made of cotton twill or similar materials (no denim, athletic wear, or sweatpants). 

● Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers should fall mid-thigh or closer to the knee. 

● Students must wear shorts, spandex shorts, leggings, or tights under skirts and jumpers in approved solid colors. 

Footwear 

● K-6 students must wear closed-toe shoes with a solid back or back strap. 

● All students are not permitted to wear high heels or shoes with wheels. 

● All students must have sneakers for PE. 

● All students must have boots or outdoor shoes for recess. 

● Knee-high socks must be one solid color. Outerwear 

● Coats, jackets, or other outerwear may be worn outdoors but must be removed indoors. 

● No scarves, hats, bandanas, hoods, or sunglasses may be worn indoors. 

● Snow pants, coat, mittens, and boots are required for winter outdoor play. 

PE 

● All students must have sneakers for PE. 

● 5-8 Students must change for PE classes: 

    ○ T-shirts must be plain or with a CVCS logo in approved colors. 

    ○ Bottoms (shorts & sweatpants) must be loose fitting in approved colors or black.

         ■ Athletic shorts must fall mid-thigh or knee-length. 

         ■ All bottoms may include a small brand logo or consistent stripes in allowed colors. 

   ○ Deodorant is required. 

Other 

● Students are not permitted to wear body-piercing jewelry, except for pierced ears on a female student. 

● Swimming apparel for school activities and class trips. 

     ○ Females must wear a one-piece bathing suit or tankini that meets or overlaps the                   bottoms. 

     ○ Males must wear fingertip-length swim trunks. 

● Hairstyles in natural colors are required.
